While most of the tourists fly hours at a stretch
fighting jet lags to reach Dubai, Indians hardly have to fly for 3 hours to
reach the city of world records. The stone’s throw away distance between Dubai
and India makes it one of the most frequently visited places by the Indians.
The visa can be for leisure, business or work related. Indians also form a
major portion of the expat community residing in Dubai. But sadly India is not
amongst the 33 countries who do not require a visa to enter UAE and therefore,
Dubai visa for Indians is a must to enter the city of Dubai.
Different
types of Visa that can be applied for Dubai by Foreign Residents in the UK:
Visitor
Visa: It is one of the most applied and approved Dubai
visa for Indian citizens. It is issued to Indians willing to stay in Dubai for
a term of more than 14 days, or Indians visiting Dubai for any family or
business visit. This type of Visa is valid for a term of 30 days in case of
short term visa and valid for 90 days for long term visa.
Transit
Visa: A transit visa is
issued for travelers looking to stay in Dubai during a break journey. In such a
case visa requirement for Indian citizens vary. A traveler must stop at the
Dubai airport for at least 8 hours to be issued a transit visa for duration of
96 hours. To get a transit visa issued, the application must come either
through the respective airline, the Dubai hotel authority or via an authorized
travel agent.
Tourist
Visa: A tourist visa applied by an Indian citizen is
considered as a special category visa. This nonrenewable visa is issued for a
period of 30 days. Since it’s non-renewable, a heavy fine is levied if the
citizen is found staying past the expiry of his/ her visa.
Employment
Visa: For Indians looking to stay in Dubai for work must
apply for an employment visa. In such cases even the employer (regardless of
the fact that it is a local company) also has to get a work visa from the
Immigration Department of Dubai. The visa of the employee has to be sponsored
by the employer.
Multi
Entry Visa: While travelling through the sea route,
travelers who need to enter and exit Dubai more than once during their travel
are issued the Multi entry visa. Indian tourists or business class people on
their work related trips to Dubai are mostly granted this type of visa.
The validity of such type of visa is 6 months from
the date of issue with each stay in the city not exceeding a span of 30 days.
This is a non- renewable visa and can be obtained once the traveler enters
Dubai.
Who
is eligible for Dubai Visa?
-Almost all citizens of different countries can apply
for Dubai visa, however this fact has been observed that citizen of Israel and
citizen of other countries who has Israel stamp on their passport hardly gets

UK VISA APPLICATION FROM DUBAI
I recently received my passport with a UK visa stamped on it
and I must say that it was by far the most efficient and fastest visa
processing I’ve ever done. So I’ll share the experience with you my dear
readers or to whoever is planning to apply for one.
To start of, you have to have an itinerary in mind. How long
you’ll be staying there, where you’ll be staying (specific address is required
when you’re filling in the application form) and the dates of your travel.
Since I’m a travel agent, it was one easy task for me to look for possible
hotels and book flights which will then serve as my itinerary. For more drama,
I also added some excursions along with it. 🙂
Once you have these information, you may now proceed to
filling out the visa application form which can be found on their website. The
visa application fee will also be paid on the same website right at the end of
the application form. The Dubai Visa Fees is USD129.00 for a 6 months
validity, you can see all the other fees on this link right here. After
completing the form and paying the fees, you can now book your visa appointment
online which is MANDATORY. I’ve seen a couple of applicants who did not have
appointments and was denied to enter the visa center. I actually did it the other way around, I
booked an appointment first and then filled out the forms and paid for the
fees. So you can do so as you wish.
After all those formalities, it’s now time to prepare all
your documents to prove that you are capable of financing yourself while you’re
in their country. Well, depending on the reason of your visit which for me was
for tourism – I have prepared the following:
1. Flight itinerary
2. Hotel booking
3. Day tours itinerary
4. Payslip for the last 6 months
5. Bank statement for the last 6 months (stamped by the
bank)
6. Employment certificate stating my monthly salary and
approved leave dates
7. Passport copy
8. UAE residence visa page copy
9. Schengen visa page copies
If you have any other documents which you think might help
you with acquiring the visa (specially pertaining to your monthly income or
assets) then do add it on the list.
I was scheduled for 28May at 11am and their new office at
Wafi Mall in Oud Metha was very well-coordinated. It seemed to me like the
whole process was rehearsed by all of the employees.
1. The receptionist checks if you do have an appointment for
the day.
2. The guard body checks you as well as your bag (for
whatever reason, chewing gums are prohibited inside)
3. Another receptionist gives you your number.
4. An agent checks if you have the correct documents and
asks you simple questions like: Have you ever been to any English countries?
(UK or Australia).
5. The agent asks you if you want your passport to be
delivered to you or you want to pick it up yourself from the same location. If
you choose the former, make sure you have AED35 with you as an exact change.
6. Agent asks you to sit for awhile as you wait for number
to be called to take your biometrics (fingerprints and photo).
7. After the biometrics, you can now go home. 🙂
The whole process was not more than 15 minutes. In fact, the
steps 3 and 4 was a matter of a split second.
They have advised me that the visa processing normally takes
15 to 20 working days but I received my visa from Aramex last 09Jun which makes
it a total of 8 working days only. So yep, the most efficient visa processing
is the UK Visa. If only this visa will allow me to travel to any Schengen
states then I’ll probably apply my visas from their office all the time.

The best way to get a Dubai Tourist Visa
Dubai as a tourist destination is on my radar since a long
time. I am scouting for an affordable deal and as soon as I spot one, I will go
ahead with the booking. Flydubai is a new budget carrier that is offering
economic tickets to Dubai, but the budget fare includes only 7kg baggage -
everything else is chargeable.
Dubai doesn’t provide visa on arrival. It is required that
everyone visiting this place must arrange their Dubai Visa well in advance. It
is a fairly simple process. Below are the documents required:
Dubai Visa
requirements
• Passport should have minimum validity of 6 months from the
date of entry
• Passport should have minimum one empty page
• For minors, birth certificate/age proof is required
• UAE Embassy works from Sunday till Thursday. Friday and
Saturday are off.
• Dubai tourist visa typically takes 4-5 working days under
normal mode, 48 hours in case of emergency
One good thing about Dubai visa is that there is no need to
visit Embassy or any office in person. One can apply online by uploading
scanned copies of the passports and a photo.
For 90 days visa additional documents are required - such as
invite from friend/relative, local residence proof etc.
Also note that females below 30 years and males under 22
years are recommended to apply along with their father or husband to minimize
chances of rejection. Some Middle East countries have this suspicion that
visitors may stay back permanently or try to marry someone locally, so they
take extra caution in case of single women, young adults etc. One of the fellow
female blogger recently told me that she was asked to provide NOC from their
parents for a tourist visa to Turkey and a range of other proofs.
Another luck based way to visit Dubai is to book your
international flight that transits through Dubai, hope that you miss your
connecting flight and the airline gives you a night's stay and a temporary
visa. But that approach can't be planned. Let me see when I will be able to
visit Dubai.
While there’re many agencies that provide visa assistance. Agencies
processes over 25,000 visa applications every month and its Dubai Visa
fee includes ‘Ok to Board’ clearance service. (Ok to Board is a status
tagged to your flight ticket PNR after the airline checks the accuracy of your
Visa, this is a security measure incorporated due to high rate of fake Visa in
operation and Indians migrating to Gulf without proper work permits). Once visa
is granted by UAE authorities, Agencies team will send a copy of your visa to
the airline that issued the tickets, so that your status can be updated to ‘Ok
to Board’. Some Indian airlines charge extra for this service - with Agencies,
you get Ok to Board without extra cost irrespective of the airline you’re
flying. I've recently booked economic tickets to Indonesia and Australia. As
and when I spot a tempting ticket fare to Dubai, I am going to grab it and approach Agencies for Visa service.
